Miss Wondersmith

Miss Wondersmith's passion is in cultivating and sharing wonder. One way she does this is by designing free, invitation-only gatherings that begin with a hidden clue; an invitation tucked into a library book, left on a supermarket shelf, or concealed along a mountain trail. Guests have found themselves at mushroom-themed tea parties, underground feasts in lava tube caves, and quiet ceremonies in the foothills, each one a spell cast to remind us that magic does not need to be earned. She writes to teach others how to create that same magic for the people they love, with essays and recipes that have appeared in The New York Times, Where Women Create, and Enchanted Living Magazine, where she has been a contributing artist since 2018. When she's not out in nature, she handbuilds functional ceramic vessels inspired by the natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest — each one a carrier of symbolism and intention, made from an adjustable hospital bed in an act of quiet defiance. She believes in kind mischief, in reverence without hierarchy, and in magic as a tool of resistance.
