Haana was born in the land of the Grimm Brothers, where she spent her early days doodling pictures inspired by fairy tales and storybooks. After relocating from Frankfurt to Seoul, her parents supported their daughter's budding talents with formal art education. Haana attended elite art schools and later studied painting at the Staedelschule in Germany and media arts at Yonsei University in Korea. Along the way, she earned two master's degrees, made large canvas art, experimented with hand-drawn animations and puppet films, and even had a short stint as a fashion MD. But it was a visit to the Bologna Children’s Book Fair that revealed her true passion and reignited her love for storytelling. Now living in sunny California with her partner Tom and their dog Cinnamon, Haana spends her days crafting stories and illustrations for children. When she’s not in her studio, she's most likely wandering across continents or busy puttering about at home.
