Dana Simpson
Dana Simpson has been writing and drawing comics a long time. She's best known for the comic strip and graphic novel series Phoebe and Her Unicorn. It's the story of a little girl and her improbable friendship with an arrogant magical unicorn. The comic strip is syndicated in hundreds of newspapers, and there are now 17 books (and counting) in the series, most recently Punk Rock Unicorn. The books have graced the New York Times bestseller list, won some awards, been translated into 14 languages, and sold millions of copies. Before that, she used to draw the popular web comic Ozy and Millie, which chronicled the adventures of two misfit fox children. That comic has a couple of books out as well. Raised in the Pacific Northwest, she now lives in Southern California with her spouse and her cat.
