Kathleen Jennings
Kathleen Jennings is a World Fantasy Award-winning illustrator and British Fantasy Award-winning writer based in Brisbane, Australia. She works heavily in fairy-tale, Gothic, and fairy-tale-Gothic palettes. Her illustrations are based in pen-and-ink and cut-paper silhouette traditions, and have appeared on book covers, as internal illustrations, and increasingly as maps. Her love of old-fashioned endpapers has led her into surface pattern design. Her written work includes the award-winning Australian Gothic novella Flyaway, the written sketchbook / poetry collection Travelogues: Vignettes from Trains in Motion, and the collection Kindling: Stories. She holds two higher degrees in creative writing: an MPhil on Australian Gothic fiction, and a PhD on creative reflection.
